Candy Bar Order Form

You should be receiving your summer mailing soon (if you haven't already). Included was lots of information on WPPA happenings this year. One of the first things we're kicking off is our annual candy bar sale! The order form was in the mailing.

You may have noticed that we are asking that you use ONE form per child. If you need additional copies, you may download them by clicking here. There is also a link on the sidebar of this page.

Oh! And if you have a kindergartener, you don't need to worry about these details. Grades 1-5 participate in this fundraiser.

BTS Shopping??

It's that time of year! Lots of trips to Target and the mall for Back to School!

Check out this great link, shared by a WP parent, that helps you compare prices of school supplies at popular retailers. A little less running around is always a good thing!

Fall Festival

We are gearing up for Fall Festival -- a new event that will have music by Bunny Clogs, face painting, food, pumpkins at more. It will all be at Wilshire Park on Saturday, October 9 (11 a.m.-2 p.m.). Save the date!!

We are looking for a few sponsors to help underwrite the cost of the event. Can you or your company help with a tax-deductible donation of $250 or more? Email president@wilshireparents.org if you want more information.

Monthly Meetings

This year, WPPA meetings will continue to be the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. We're wondering ... would you be more likely to attend meetings regularly if free childcare was provided?

Meet & Greet : September 7

Meet & Greet is on Tuesday, September 7 this year. WPPA will be set up in the lunch room. We'll be there to chat, answer questions about WPPA and distribute boxes of World's Finest Chocolate for our fall fundraiser. Hope to see you there!

Collect and Save

You know all those little things you take the time to save (you do take the time, right? please say you do ..!)? The milk caps, the box tops, the juice boxes ... Well, they may seem insignificant, but these collect and save fundraisers actually bring in thousands of dollars each year. So keep it up!

And, to make your life easier, here's a handy dandy guide to print and hang up.

Ice Cream Social

Who wants to chair Ice Cream Social this Spring? It's an easy gig: arrange for ice cream from Culver's, coordinate a couple volunteers, and scoop ice cream. Lots of glory in this one!

Okay, maybe not glory. But lots of thanks and people happy about free ice cream. Wanna help? Email president@wilshireparents.org.

Summer, Summer

We've in summer mode. Vacation mode. And we haven't been blogging much. But summer is winding down. And as we are staring down the barrel of August, the board has begun meeting and planning for 2010-2011. Stay tuned for more frequent posts.
