Fourth Grade Playdate

Hey fourth-grade families! Liaison Brenda Keller Burmeister is organizing a casual get together this Monday, 8/30 at Emerald Park. Come if you can around 5-ish. Pack a picnic to eat there or come later just to play & hang out. Connect with other families in the grade before school starts! Come if you can!!

Spirtwear

This year's yearbook cover, designed by WP Parent, Steve Campbell, was a big hit. So much so, we will be using it for the design of this year's Spiritwear tees. Available in both short and long sleeve, we are hoping that we'll have the order forms ready for Meet & Greet.

Second Grade Playdate

Thanks to our second grade liaison, Julie Philbrook for coordinating a play date. Second grade parents, head to Central Park tonight starting at 5:30 to connect with other families in the grade.

No need to RSVP, just show up if it works! Pack a picnic dinner, or come later just to play.

Face Painting?

Date Change: Silent Auction

We know ... it's like a bazillion years away. But a quick heads up. The district calendar lists this year's Silent Auction as Friday, March 18. It is actually Saturday, March 19. We'll remind you again as the date draws closer (we're really very considerate about things like that)! ;)

WPPA Welcomes New Families

Healthy Eating

Almost time to start thinking about packing those lunches! If you have cold-lunch kids, you know how easy it can be to pack the same old thing every day (hello PB &J, carrots and ranch!).

Candy Bar Order Form

You should be receiving your summer mailing soon (if you haven't already). Included was lots of information on WPPA happenings this year. One of the first things we're kicking off is our annual candy bar sale! The order form was in the mailing.

You may have noticed that we are asking that you use ONE form per child. If you need additional copies, you may download them by clicking here. There is also a link on the sidebar of this page.

Oh! And if you have a kindergartener, you don't need to worry about these details. Grades 1-5 participate in this fundraiser.

BTS Shopping??

It's that time of year! Lots of trips to Target and the mall for Back to School!

Fall Festival

We are gearing up for Fall Festival -- a new event that will have music by Bunny Clogs, face painting, food, pumpkins at more. It will all be at Wilshire Park on Saturday, October 9 (11 a.m.-2 p.m.). Save the date!!

We are looking for a few sponsors to help underwrite the cost of the event. Can you or your company help with a tax-deductible donation of $250 or more? Email president@wilshireparents.org if you want more information.

Monthly Meetings

This year, WPPA meetings will continue to be the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. We're wondering ... would you be more likely to attend meetings regularly if free childcare was provided?

Meet & Greet is on Tuesday, September 7 this year. WPPA will be set up in the lunch room. We'll be there to chat, answer questions about WPPA and distribute boxes of World's Finest Chocolate for our fall fundraiser. Hope to see you there!
